This year is a complete nightmare. Things will eventually move on, there will be other things in the world and when that happens, i think its safe to say that everyone would like to think that this year simply didn’t happen. And yet it did. And so, when it will all be over, the consequences will go far beyond, this year will be imprinted both in history and our minds and lives as terrible year.

Natural calamities at one side, but what has happened to humanity? Can we even call ourselves that anymore? Humans? A species given intellect and reason? Do we deserve to be called humans?

The mere fact that the world is in need of raising a slogan like “Black Lives Matter” in itself is a slap in the face of mankind. The fact that people have to actually say that another human being’s life matters! Our kind has stooped so low that people have to come out on the streets, not to demand lowering of taxes or provision of facilities, but to protest against barbarism against life itself. Where one’s life is in danger because of the colour of their skin or the name of their caste or the class they are born in. None of which, by the way, is in the hands of man himself. You are born where you’re born and you’re born the way you are because that is how and where you’re born. Period. And what is the behaviour of an “intelligent” specie? Discrimination and hatred against race. Pathetic.

Racism comes in so many forms that some are actually now norm. Like a parents saying they’ll will get a “gori chitti bahu” for her son. Seriously?! We all know this happens. We have all been subjected to racism and we have all subject another person to it. WE DID THIS TO THE WORLD.

This is where racism begins. And we start it. In our homes. Teach it to our children. We’re all murderers here one way or another. We let things like this happen and we let people get away with things like this. Bloody about time it stopped.

The elite have become a race in themselves. Untouchables. You can murder a 17 y/o and get away with it because you belong to the elite. The families won’t even fight you because you’re an untouchable elitist with connections.

Our justice systems have failed. Our governments have failed. Our societies have failed. Our species has failed. WE HAVE FAILED.

If this year and all the events happening have not opened your eyes and make you want to take a stand, bring a change by changing YOURSELF and those you can influence, then whatever shred of humanity is left on this planet, will be gone before we know it. And we will be worse than the worst species ever created.
